11:57 am - There is a b'rucha even for this . . .
Just found out that crossword I sold to the NY Times a few months back (my first NYT crossword ever) will be appearing on Thursday, September 9 -- that is, the first day of Rosh Hashanah. Happy New Year!

10:55 pm - Brief Con Report
Got back from the 2010 National Puzzlers' League convention (in Seattle) on Monday. Had much fun while there. Among the events was the annual Saturday night extravaganza, which this year was written by Spelvin, T MCay, Slik, and me. This extravanganza has now been posted to http://sites.google.com/site/lotsofluck2010/ for your enjoyment. (Note that the Appraisal and Item cards have spoilers for the puzzles, so you probably want to hold off on them till after solving the puzzles.)

02:09 am - Why Ucaoimhu wrote his Mystery Hunt report two weeks early
Because this is actually a quick end-of-year cryptic summary instead.
Total count: 29.5 (with the last two, Deducers Wild and Auld Lang Design, posted on my Misc Cryptics page on New Years' Eve).
Con Cryptics page: Complete (until the 2010 convention, of course).
Misc Cryptics page: Incomplete, but with more stuff.
Here endeth the summary.

08:06 am - Why Ucaoimhu wrote his Con report three weeks late
Because saying "The Baltimore NPL Con was the most fun you can have with three sheets of vellum, five Quizzards, a bag of Jelly-Bellies, three millennia of art, 1534 cryptic clues, three cosolvers, a couple dozen celebrity pictures, 100 celebrity names, 30 crab-transdeletions, 30 beery questions, 40 flats, 29 holes, a glass of pineapple juice, and 534 rhythmically written letters" seemed like such a cliche. (Apologizes for any omissions or incorrect numerical values.)
On the site: Various additions to Misc Cryptics, and Con Cryptics now go back to my first. (The cryptic suite I brought to Baltimore isn't on Con Cryptics yet; contact me if you want a copy.)

11:18 pm - Why Ucaoimhu made a second post to his blog
Since this blog links to my website, I've been putting up more of my old cryptics on the site. The Con Cryptics page now goes back to "The Village" from the 2001 Con (thanks, toonhead_npl), there's some more stuff on the main page, and I've added a page with a lot of miscellaneous cryptics.
